Gibbon Experience

English OR Svenska Gibbon Experience – i Huay Xai Efter 2 dagar på Mekong floden kom vi äntligen fram till staden Huay Xai.

The flight from Bagan to Mandalay takes only 30 minutes. When we arrived to the hotel area with our taxi, a security guard is scanning the taxi before we can drive in to the entrance. When we enter into the hotel we had to go through a security portal like the ones at the airports. The hotel is very nice with a splendid service and a beautiful pool area. Today we took a trip to Amarapura and the large monastery. […]

Yangoon

Our taxi ride from the airport in Yangoon to the “Summit Parkview Hotel” took about 35 min. The taxi driver was a bit annoying, he wanted to sell all kinds of different guide trips to places all over Myanmar. He wanted us to add his Facebook page too. It was a delight to get out from the taxi and check in to this very nice hotel. Our room had a magnificent view over the “Shwedagon Pagoda”, it is one of the most beautiful […]

Bagan

The main reason people travel to Myanmar is to see the old temples in Bagan. We stayed in a hotel called “The Hotel @ Tharabar Gate”. It was located in Old Bagan. The rooms were in Bungalows. The hotel had a spa but we didn’t use it. There were no balloon trips during wet season otherwise that would have been on top of our list.   We walked up to Ananda Temple situated just outside our hotel. Ananda Temple This Buddhist […]

Saigon, or Ho Chi Minh City (HCMC) has 9 millions citizens. Add to that about 2.5 million of mopeds/motorcycles. One advantage of that is that the city is not as polluted as for example Bangkok. The traffic is very hectic. To go from one side of the street to the other side is a big achievement. You can not stay and wait for someone to stop and let you pass, you must slowly go forward without stopping or going back! […]
