Mandalay
The flight from Bagan to Mandalay takes only 30 minutes. When we arrived to the hotel area with our taxi, a security guard is scanning the taxi before we can drive in to the entrance. When we enter into the hotel we had to go through a security portal like the ones at the airports. The hotel is very nice with a splendid service and a beautiful pool area.
Today we took a trip to Amarapura and the large monastery. Preparations for breakfast was ongoing. At 10:15, 1,300 monks walks in a procession to get their breakfast. It is very powerful to see and there is a big crowd.
“U Beins Bridge” is the worlds longest teak bridge – 1.2 km long. Even though it was considered low season (August) it was plenty of tourists here.
